    Trevor:

I’m currently getting quotes for a membrane covering on a flat roof. Would you be willing to recommend the roofers you’ve had success with?

    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Chris,
That was a result of hiring the wrong roofer. The project was done on a very tight budget and we were forced to hire the roofer who came in the cheapest. Big mistake. He didn’t do the flashing details as they were drawn and hence we had problems with it from day one but he disappeared. The owner thought about trying to hunt him down and sue him but chose to sell the place in the end. My understanding was the buyers new it had roofing issues.
Big lesson is you get what you pay for. Don’t always use the cheapest guy. We have since worked with a couple other roofers for flat roofs and haven’t had any issues.
    Regards,
    Trevor

I have been interested in your designs for a long time, as I have a cottage on Lake Kawagama. My family has also owned the cottage two doors down from this cottage for the past 40 years. We have been told by the new owners last weekend that they have had major work done to correct deffective workmanship. Is this as a result of a poor contractor, or poor architecture? How would I ensure that these problems wouldn’t occur in my project, if I were to rebuild at my property?

    Hi Lynda,
This cottage is located on Lake Muskoka close to the mouth of the Indian River on the West shore. It is quite difficult to spot from the water as are most of our buildings. Unless they put up a boathouse in the last year or two there isn’t one though the property recently changed hands.

Thanks for the nice comments always appreciated.

Is this property located on Strawberry Bay, Lake Muskoka, with a double slip Boathouse on the water in the same style…my husband and I boated by a property in this style, but could not really see the cottage from the water…

We are looking around for a future boathouse and cottage reno Architect firm.
Based on what I have seen so far you would be at the top of the list…

Pls advise if this property is on Strawberry Bay,
    Great work! Regards, Lynda

I would like to build a small cottage 800 sqft in temagami area.
I like this project more than any other so I was wondering if you could quote the cost and the chance for an “adjustment” of this cottage to my needs.
    I’d really appreciate that
