Cape Chin

Design

A new build on a rare site on Georgian Bay. This cottage nestles into a terraced ledge with the Niagara Escarpment 35′ above and the shoreline 50′ below. Armed with a 100+ page colour scrapbook at the project’s inception, the clients continued to communicate their needs, desires and tastes effectively throughout the design process. Siting and design have worked towards providing spectacular views to both the Escarpment and Bay, while remaining inconspicuous from the water. Two staggered 2-storey volumes meet at the stair tower creating a visually complex moment while maintaining a clean and open relation between the living spaces on ground floor.
