The Original Jones Collumbin

Toronto, Canada

For their new offices Jones Collombin sublet 4600 sq.ft. of surplus office space from an other firm in the east SunLife Tower. The challenge for Altius was to create an entrance where there was none and to convert an existing mailroom, staff room and storage area into a reception area, boardroom, conference room and office for one of the managing partners.

The result is elegant open space with a warm subtle palette. The focus of the design is the curvaceous boardroom that has the flexibility to be completely opened to create one large reception area for entertaining clients.

This flexibility is achieved with three unique curved sliding mahogany doors that were designed and fabricated in house by Altius. They slide effortlessly into any position and offer a play of light and form that offers welcome relief from otherwise rectilinear office space.
